Designed for strategic placement within the coop, the traps successfully capture mites and can be used alongside other methods of mite control as part of your red mite management programme.

How the Mite Traps Work

The sticky attractant papers are placed inside the mite traps before positioning them around the chicken coop.

The traps should be placed where mites are likely to congregate, such as: 

• Nest boxes 
• Ends of perches
• Ledges within the chicken coop
• Other areas where mites hide

If suitable locations are limited, the traps can be secured beneath or onto a perch using electrical or masking tape. 

Once mites enter the trap, they adhere to the sticky paper, making it easy to monitor mite activity. 

Monitoring Your Traps

Check the traps regularly by lifting the lid and inspecting the sticky paper. 

Once the paper becomes covered with mites, simply discard it and replace it with a fresh sticky attractant sheet. 

The traps themselves can be washed periodically to keep them clean and ready for reuse.

Directions for Use

Insert one sticky attractant paper into each trap and record the installation date using the supplied stickers. 

Position the traps in areas where mites are likely to hide, taking care to avoid locations where chickens may scratch litter into them. 

Inspect the traps regularly and replace the sticky papers when required to continue monitoring mite activity.
