Following the implementation of the Avian Influenza Prevention Zone (AIPZ) across the UK on 11th November, a new self-assessment checklist has been created to help all bird keepers and owners to identify the measures they have in place to protect their flock.

The self-assessment form, created jointly by the DEFRA and the Scottish and Welsh Governments, is aimed at providing risk mitigiation to encourage all keepers and owners of birds to consider the various risk factors and how these can be minimised in order to prevent the spread of disease.

The form is available via the gov.uk website here.
