A product exclusive to Chicken Vet to treat Red Mite in Chicken Houses.

This spray is silicone based and it works by a process of entrapment. It does not work like many silica based products that abrase the mite's exoskeleton.

This product leaves a slippery surface for a short period of time that the mite cannot move around on, this means it cannot get onto the bird to feed and consequently dies.

Recent trials have shown effective removal of mites for up to 14 weeks. The product is based on the same active ingredient as Europe’s leading human head lice treatment, which means it is a very safe product to use.

As it is a physical control and not a pesticide there should be no problems with resistance, it is advised for best effect not to use it in the presence of dessicants (Diamataceous Earth) as this will reduce it’s efficacy. 

The spray is applied at a distance of 75cm, the 500ml container will treat 10sqm of house.

Follow instructions carefully.

The product is supplied in two containers which are mixed together and then water is added to make up the spray.
